Rush vs. Recruitment
There are many stereotypes regarding how men join fraternities and the process
that is involved. At West Chester University, and many other schools,
"RUSH" is the time of the year when men are able to "pledge"
fraternities.
With all the other fraternities at WCU, men have to go through a pledge
period where they are not a true member of their fraternity. Some pledge
periods can be lengthy and very time consuming.
SigEp on the other hand does not believe in "rushing" its men to
join our fraternity. Because of this belief, SigEp is the only fraternity
to "recruit" men year round. We have no pledge period and do not
develop men through "classes"; men can join at any time in the
semester.
Since we do not have a pledging period, you are a brother from day one,
having all the rights and privileges of every other brother in the
chapter. This is why we "recruit", because when you join, you
are a brother, not a pledge.
We recruit balanced men and develop them to be leaders in the worlds'
communities.
